Simonato and the younger generation

18 August 2022

From TV to radio, we are regularly presented with an image of young people as lazy and disinterested in the world around them. In Italy, this prevalent narrative pervades daily life. But is it true?
Many companies in Italy and abroad, including Simonato, seek out motivated young people. There is a perception that permanent positions are a thing of the past, replaced by companies offering attractive opportunities to all those brave enough to join their team, giving their all every day with freshness, enthusiasm, and up-to-date knowledge, including in sectors and environments that are sometimes dated.
Stories of low pay and meagre wages abound from various sources. Sometimes large companies rely on their big names to undervalue young people's work, suggesting that they are privileged to have the opportunity to work with them, while other companies pay little because the value of their product is not adequately reflected in the price. We believe that the end consumer should always carry out checks on the product they purchase, and in particular ensure that it comes from a responsible supply chain.
We have a team of young people aged between 20 and 30 working at our company, many of whom are entering the working world for the first time. They motivate us to continue to grow, because young people are important to us. Anyone wishing to join us will find a tight-knit, inclusive team waiting to welcome them.
